There are a wide range of library options throughout Westchester. The system overall is fantastic. They have a very broad collection of digital and print literature and if you are moving from the City I believe you’ll be thrilled with the speed with which you’ll be able to get desired books. The County will deliver books to your branch for a small fee (typically 50 cents per book) or you may check out digital copies.
If you have children you’ll have no shortage of options but if you are located anywhere near the New Rochelle, “Huguenot Children’s Library” I highly encourage you to stop in and visit this beautiful, quaint library. The staff is excellent and the collection is great. In addition, the library is situated next to a fantastic playground (on my list of best playgrounds) and a very pretty pond at the foot of New Rochelle High School.
The Westchester libraries offer various free classes. You will find courses on job preparedness and computer classes. You will find many children’s courses including pilates, yoga, crafting, and many others. Free movie screenings of current films and classics happen regularly. There are many options. Unfortunately, there is no unified library calendar for all of the Westchester libraries at this point. Thus, your best bet is the chart below. In it you will find links to all of the libraries in Westchester County. Happy hunting.
